I am the athlete by Michael Renon

I am the athlete, the paragon and ideal that all have once or shall attain,

As pain has burned your body, it has burned mine thousands times more,

Scars of battle and signs of life have covered my body in luster like no other,

And it too has or shall touch yours.

Come hither and spread thy arms,

Come break thy bones,

Come burn thy breath,

Come tear thy body asunder,

Come and feel pleasure like no other.

Come take my victories and play them like yours alone.

I am the athlete. A free and mighty spirit , with a mind of hard work.

Trained like diamonds under pressure untold.

An impeccable specimen is what we could all just hold.

If pain were thy pleasure then all these bonuses would be not so grand and unforetold.
