Beloved Bridget by Riddhi Saxena

I don’t know how to put these into words

but I have finally mustered the endurance

don’t know if I will be able to tell it all to you

but now I write this for you hence

T’was the amorous season of fall

and there you are holding the book

the book which I would have never read

if it was not for the way you look

all adored you for your dress and the bowtie

but those were just additions or

accessories to your eyes and smile

which were to die for

The ramparts of your hair at your ears

were hiding the sight of your eyes,

I would wait for you to look at me for once

and that’s when I learned how slowly time flies

I could always perceive your presence in my life

be it day or be it night

but I wondered if you ever heard of me

or if I was ever in your sight

But now I think I should let you know

that apart from all your admirers

Here I am who loves you for who you are

like one of the true lovers

Like the ones mentioned in books

because it’s what you deserve

and I love you much and enough

that to you, the world,

with true love and warmth
